If you are having IV sedation or general anesthesia:

  1. Do not have anything to eat or drink, including water, after midnight the night before surgery. Also, no smoking! If you are having surgery at 2pm or after, you may eat a light breakfast (dry toast, apple juice, black coffee or black tea) before 8am.
  2. Wear short sleeves. No boots, nail polish, lip, tongue or nose piercings in preparation for the application of the monitoring system.
  3. No Contact lenses, wear glasses.
  4. You must have someone available to drive you to your appointment. Your driver will come in with you and we will go over post-operative instructions and get their name and number so we are able to call them when you are on your way to recovery so they may head back to the office.
  5. Insurance referrals and all payments must be taken prior to your surgery.
  6. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the time of surgery. A friend or sibling will not be acceptable.
  7. No Cell Phones will be permitted with the patient on the day of surgery!! Patients should leave all personal belongings with their driver.
